We drew on influences and traditions from Montenegrin history and that of the Ottoman Empire. By adapting the scale of the coffee table – making it low and wide – we ensured it is comfortable and inviting. A large round plate of Calacatta Viola marble sits atop the solid oak base. The base itself is constructed without the use of screws or nails. Instead, wooden dowels are employed in the same way they are in local traditional carpentry techniques.
